David and all Israel went to Jerusalem ( also called Jebus ); and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there. The inhabitants of Jebus said to David, “ You will not come in here! ” Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. The same is David ’s city.
The Jebusites believed their fortress was impregnable and mocked David's forces. Human pride and intimidation cannot stop the fulfillment of God's promises when the Lord of Armies leads the way.
Zion was considered an unreachable stronghold by human standards, yet David captured it because divine decree overrides worldly resistance. God delights in overcoming what seems impossible.
